TSRgrow introduces Lighting as a Platform™ (LaaP) – A revolutionary approach to horticulture

cannabis lighting system

TSRgrow, LLC
60 Alhambra Road, Suite 1
Warwick, RI 02886
[email protected]

WARWICK, RI – FEBRUARY 3, 2021 – TSRgrow, a leading horticulture solutions provider, announces their Lighting as a Platform™ (LaaP), a revolutionary technology that delivers unparalleled results to indoor growers, while significantly reducing up-front and long-term operating costs.

Using Remote Power Server Technology combined with LED control systems, software applications and sensor feedback technology, LaaP maximizes efficiency while cutting costs in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) facilities.

By implementing LaaP, growers eliminate the need for local ballast equipment in their indoor growing area. This also removes weight and clutter cannabis lighting systemsfrom infrastructure and provides lower installation and maintenance costs. Additionally, by removing the heat from the grow, growers can reduce their equipment and cooling expenses. But these benefits are just the beginning. LaaP produces greater light intensity and more uniform canopy coverage for each grow, reducing the total number of fixtures needed. This is another simple way to reduce capital expenditures.

The Remote Power Servers connect directly to the grid, DC storage, or Cogen, further eliminating infrastructure costs related to lighting panels, contactors, and transformers. And when LaaP is used in conjunction with our TSRgrow’s TOTALgrow™ solution, growers gain deeper insights across every aspect of their operation.

“Taking all of the ballasts out of the flower rooms and putting then into a full IT server room, has helped us do right by our plants and our facility. Since we’re using TSRgrow’s Lighting as a Platform, we have the ability to control our environment outside of our grow in a designated server room where we do all of our monitoring. Since we do not have lights giving off heat, there is no need to run large AC units, which saves on overhead costs.

During our recent 200,00 sq. ft. expansion project, TSRgrow was there to help us every step of the way. We will also be using them for our next expansion project. Before you buy, do your research. TSRgrow is a true platform technology-based company. Not just because of the lights and the technology, but also because they are a true partner to help you grow.” – Cliff Miller, Norman K, Maine.

AdSuite’s all-in-one cannabis-specific marketing platform makes it quick and easy to buy, manage, and measure advertising campaigns. For businesses, the start of the new year has always been a time to evaluate how and where to spend marketing budgets to achieve optimal ROI; and with the challenges COVID presented last year, including budget cuts and changes in consumer purchasing behavior, cannabis companies had to adjust their marketing strategy to get their messages in front of the right audiences no matter where they were – in-store or online,” said Jeremy Jacobs, CEO at Enlighten. “This meant cutting traditional ad spending and re-allocating those funds to digital, which requires resources and creativity to get around the restrictive rules from digital platforms like Google and Facebook and individual state laws around marketing cannabis.”

We know Enlighten well and we’re excited to be one of the first users of the AdSuite platform. Our team is always looking for more seamless ways to manage our ad spend.” said Nicole Kennebeck, Marketing Director of Willie’s Reserve. “The flexibility and simplicity of the AdSuite platform make using it a no-brainer for any company, small or large, at any stage of their business.”

Large cannabis companies, as well as non-cannabis companies looking to reach cannabis consumers, use Enlighten’s enterprise-grade technology, trusted data, transparency and custom marketing solutions to influence and navigate the entire customer journey; from creating brand awareness and driving foot traffic into the store, to guiding the in-store experience, influencing purchase habits and increasing basket sizes once they are in the door. With today’s announcement, Enlighten is supporting small and emerging brands in the cannabis space, oftentimes without in-house marketing teams, by offering a simple and effective self-service platform.

Enlighten AdSuite benefits and features include:

  • Affordability: Get Exactly What You Pay For. Businesses can advertise and run campaigns at any price point with no commitment or contract making it especially attractive to SMBs with limited budgets. • The Power and Control To Customize Campaigns To Meet Business Needs. Choose from inventory across all advertising channels including mobile, desktop, and in-store. In addition to cannabis publications and websites, Enlighten AdSuite provides access to mainstream premium publications, websites and apps. Customers can also schedule campaigns to specific dates and upload creative content directly.

SciPhy Systems & Artisan Industries Inc. announce the ARTISAN X-SR200: The next generation of solvent recovery systems for industrial hemp processing

hemp solvent recovery

Portland, OR and Stoughton, MA – SciPhy Systems & Artisan Industries Inc. have introduced an exciting new Solvent Recovery system, specifically designed for processing hemp. This cutting-edge equipment is the result of a collaboration between the two companies with the goal of producing a line of highly-efficient, hemp processing equipment and modular systems.

The Next Generation of Processing Systems
Drawing on 85 years of purification experience in edible oils, nutraceuticals, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing, Artisan’s chemical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers worked with SciPhy Systems experts to create a new approach to hemp processing systems. Utilizing an “Integrated Systems Approach”, the goal is to improve profit margins for hemp extraction and processing companies by reducing operating costs, increasing productivity, lowering downtime and enhancing product quality.

A New Approach to Solvent Recovery
According to Jeff Hays, Artisan Industries General Manager, “The ARTISAN X-SR200 Solvent Recovery System replaces bulky, energy intensive evaporation systems like Falling Film Evaporators and batch Pot Stills with the compact and efficient combination of membranes and the Artisan Rototherm® technology. This first-of-its-kind continuous hemp extract solvent recovery system occupies less floor space and significantly reduces energy cost.”

Fully Integrated and Ready to Install

The ARTISAN X -SR200 is a fully integrated and continuous solvent recovery solution. Standard models ranging 200 gal/hr up to 500 gal/hr of recovered solvent, and custom models available from 100 gal/hr up to 10,000 gal/hr. The ARTISANX -SR200 reduces residual concentration in hemp extract down to 5000 ppm, with options down to 100 ppm.

Improving Profit Margins
Emmett McGregor, CEO of SciPhy stated “The ARTISAN X -SR200 Solvent Recovery System has been developed to improve profit margins through lower energy costs and improved efficiency. The system utilizes advanced process controls that combine precision sensing and intuitive touch screen operation.  This allows for rapid response to process conditions and improved quality control.”

Avoiding Installation and Start-up Delay Costs
Rob Reintjes, Artisan Senior Product Manager said “Artisan conducted an extensive hemp extraction industry product survey with input from CBD Processing Labs and Industry leaders. It was clear that hemp processing facilities often experienced major lost revenues due to long construction and start-up delays that were caused by poor system design and a lack of ready-to-install processing modules. Plant layouts were not efficient – resulting in higher labor costs. Our next generation solvent recovery systems are rapidly deployable. They are a fully modular, preassembled turn-key design. All tankage, pumps, all utilities and instrumentation are included on-board for plug and play integration into the customer’s facility.”

Helping the cannabis industry overcome packaging hurdles

blister pack

The cannabis industry is one of the fastest growing markets in the U.S. today, but it is also one of the youngest. Combining a new growing demand with the strict standards of professional packaging is a recipe for crisis in many cases.  Over the past 50 years, Thomas Packaging has spent time and energy ensuring that we are the turnkey solution for packaging products in multiple industries. Cannabis manufacturing and packaging is under harsh scrutiny and must be flexible to the demands of their consumers at the same time. Those two elements are what makes the latest EZ Blister machine model a beneficial solution for a wide range of cannabis products.

The EZ Blister is a table-top, semi-automatic blister machine.  This unit combines high quality packaging and flexible design capabilities with ease of use and low-cost operations.  It is the ideal solution for entry level packaging facilities creating small to medium size batches.

Thomas Packaging ensures the highest quality packages with their expertise in blister designs.  Customers can rely heavily on their years of experience with child resistant and industry-compliant packaging.

The EZ Blister is designed to accommodate a wide range of products from tablets and capsules to edibles, joints, flower and vape cartridges. The machine has been used for hot filling gelatin to allow gummies to form in process, eliminating unnecessary steps and reducing costs.

It has been proven that blister packages on display are far more likely to be purchased than products in bottles and pouches.  Marketing information is easier to read and packaging is more attention-grabbing.

California Lightworks introduces MegaDrive™: New game changing grow light technology

Patented Lighting System Installs in a Fraction of The Time at a Fraction of the Cost

CANOGA PARK, Calif., October 14, 2020 – California LightWorks, a leading U.S. manufacturer of LED horticultural lighting, today announced the introduction of MegaDrive™, a game-changing new professional grow light system that delivers unparalleled results while significantly reducing both up-front and long term operating costs. By removing LED drivers from individual light fixtures, the new MegaDrive™ eliminates the need for electrical power connections throughout the greenhouse or grow room while significantly reducing up-front costs.

As the indoor and greenhouse horticulture industries mature, lowering operating costs is becoming essential to ensuring profitability.  LED technology can significantly reduce operating costs through high efficiency, long fixture life and sunlight balancing.  However, LED technology adoption in the horticulture industry has been slow due to high up-front and installation costs.

The new MegaDrive™ system consists of a large central power unit connected to a series of up to 30 LED fixtures in a chain.  High voltage three phase power can connect directly to the central power unit, eliminating power drops to each fixture.  In addition, all the lights can be centrally controlled from the power unit.  The result is up to 80% less installation cost and 30% less up-front fixture cost.

The MegaDrive™ also features:

  • Up to 3.5 µMoles/Joule efficacy using Osram LEDs
  • Bluetooth Mesh wireless controls
  • Light sensors for sunlight balancing
  • Dynamic Spectrum control

“Using the MegaDrive™ to replace our outdated HPS systems, we were able to double our canopy space by going from a single level to two levels with almost no increase in power and heat,” said Wesley Williams, Vice President of Operations at Exotics Cultivation in Lompoc, California.  “We completed the whole installation in half a day with no additional electrical work. The plant response to these new lights has been incredible, far exceeding any other LED lights we tested.  We look forward to converting our entire facility to the new MegaDrive™ system.”

“The key to our success has been relentless innovation,” said George Mekhtarian, CEO of California LightWorks. “Having R&D and manufacturing stateside allows us to deliver breakthrough lighting technology faster than any of our competitors.  The new MegaDrive™ is yet another example of our commitment to maintaining our lead in this industry.”

The new MegaDrive™ patented lighting system is currently available exclusively from California LightWorks for both indoor and greenhouse applications.  The system is UL listed,  made in California and carries a five-year warranty.

Cannabis startups invited to apply for opportunity to present one-on-one to investors in first-of-its-kind “Capital Connection” program.

Boston, MA, October 6, 2020 – Burns & Levinson will host its fourth annual “State of the Cannabis Industry” conference – which will be held virtually and will focus on critical issues in the multi-billion dollar cannabis industry – on October 29, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET. In addition to the event’s Q&A sessions, expert panels and keynote, Burns & Levinson is launching a new “Capital Connection” program to match cannabis industry startups with investors looking for early-stage companies to potentially fund or mentor. The conference will feature an interview with Commissioner Steven Hoffman, Chairman of the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, in an exclusive one-on-one Q&A with Frank A. Segall, co-chair of the Cannabis Business & Law Advisory Group at Burns & Levinson. Keynote speakers include: Joseph Lusardi, CEO of Curaleaf, and Mitchell Kahn, co-founder and CEO of Grassroots. Curaleaf, which is a leading medical and wellness cannabis operator in the U.S., closed a landmark $830 million acquisition of Grassroots in July 2020 – creating the world’s largest cannabis company.

The expert panels and Q&A sessions will tackle a wide range of issues impacting the cannabis industry including capital markets, M&A and investments, secured lending, workouts and restructurings, and developments in the hemp and CBD market.

“Despite the pandemic, we are still seeing significant business opportunities in the capital markets, investments and M&A areas to invest in and acquire cannabis, hemp/CBD and cannabis-related companies. We look forward to fostering these relationships through our Capital Connection program,” said Segall. “Even though we can’t physically be together like in previous years, we are very excited about this year’s conference and the opportunities for participants to make connections, develop partnerships and learn from our peers and industry leaders,” added Scott Moskol, who co-chairs Burns’ Cannabis Business & Law Advisory Group with Segall.

The conference sponsors include: Cohn Reznick, Hub International, GFA Federal Credit Union, Nucleus One, Green Check Verified, Paragon Payroll, and Elevate Northeast.

Burns & Levinson was the first major Boston corporate law firm to develop a cannabis business practice, and has been advising cannabis businesses, entrepreneurs and investors across the country for over seven years. The firm has unrivaled experience in cannabis and hemp/CBD business formation and corporate structuring, private placements, venture capital, M&A, securities, banking issues, fund formation, debt and equity financing, restructuring and receiverships, real estate acquisitions and leasing, intellectual property protection, 280E taxation issues, and cannabis litigation.

The firm is well-known for its role in the cannabis banking industry and has worked with multiple financial institutions to establish a framework that allows them to accept cannabis-derived deposits. Burns & Levinson is currently working with regulated financial institutions and non-regulated private funds to set up first-of-their-kind cannabis lending programs. The firm is also among the top law firms in the country handling high-level corporate and financing deals in the private and public markets in the cannabis market.
